In the latest in the groundbreaking interview series, Britain’s leading green commentator tackles the International Energy Authority’s chief economist, who reveals for the first time a startling and worrying prediction for the date of peak oil.
Once again environmental writer George Monbiot of the Manchester Guardian interviews a leading figure on the world energy scene. If you would like a more in-depth analysis of the IEA’s recent report on peak oil Monbiot has a piece on his personal website. Meanwhile I’m flying halfway across the world in a couple months and feeling more guilty now than I already did.

if you thought that was good, monbiot absolutely rinses this guy. he has done another interview between the two of these. he’s getting good. i think monbiot really enjoys grilling these guys. he’s like a warrior who has been preparing all his life for a triumvirate of battles. the ultimate media war of monbiot vs. apathy

Funny, Monbiot didn’t send out a notification about this one… I really admire the guy and all he’s trying to do but I’m also a little concerned because it seems like he’s always threatening to spill over into outright snarkiness which can only be used against him… He catches enough flack being educated, well-spoken and brazen without adding some sort of arrogance or perceived arrogance to the mix for his detractors to exploit…
Thanks for the link– I’ll have to check it out…
